Gigi White
Executive Producer/Producer

Gigi White's extraordinary life has been defined by service to the community, and a relentless determination to improve the lives of others through access to music, education, and art.

An academic prodigy with a genius IQ, she left school at 16, to pursue a career as an international model.

A chance meeting at Richard Branson's famed Manor recording studio in Oxfordshire, England led to her marrying legendary YES drummer Alan White. After relocating to the States with their two kids, Gigi immersed herself in the public education system, determined to improve the lives of all children. Her tenure included stints as PTSA President and being awarded Washington State's highest volunteer accolade, The Golden Acorn, twice, as well as the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

As an outspoken advocate for the needs of the underserved, Gigi co-founded Music Aid Northwest, and implemented a license plate initiative, the revenue of which would fund music programs in public schools. Working collaboratively with politicians on both sides of the aisle, civic leaders, and a smattering of rock stars, this successful program has flourished.

Music Aid Northwest has also partnered with local musicians as well as international music superstars to bring world class fundraising concerts to the Seattle area.

Gigi has served on the advisory board of Northwest Programs for the Arts, as well as the Centerstage Council for Seattle Theatre Group for many years.

Alan and Gigi White had a fabled marriage, not typical between a rock star and a model. When asked what their secret was, they would always say, "Trust and teamwork".

Alan passed away in May 2022, leaving the world's music community bereft. Gigi turned her grief into an opportunity to honor her beloved husband whilst raising money for one of their favorite charities, ‘WhyHunger’. With Gigi at the helm in partnership with musician/producer Michael McMorrow, as Executive Co- Producers, "Alan White: Celebrating His Life in Music" came to Seattle's historic Paramount Theatre in October 2022 with a cast of musicians from all chapters of Alan's extensive career and beyond. A magical night whose roots propagated yet more music, collaboration, and giving.

At the time of his death Alan had begun work on his memoir. Gigi will continue this, to honor her partner, the man of whom John Lennon credited on his Imagine album: Alan White: Good Vibes.

“We were always a team in everything we did” quotes Gig. And to this day it remains thus.

She hopes this documentary film about Alan’s life will inspire others to recognize the value of music, mentorship, and the pursuit of personal dreams. Be careful what you wish for, dreams can and do come true.
